If you insert  an SD card (SD card needs to be purchased separately) for loop recording, then WiFi is not required, if you apply live stream with WIFI (using the downloaded free APP), then SD card is not required (phone and camera cannot exceed 5M ), and live remote view needs internet access for both mobile phone and camera.
